On Saturday morning, Schitt’s Creek co-creator Dan Levy tweeted that the sixth and final season of the show and the documentary, Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: A Schitt’s Creek Farewell, have dropped early and are now available on Netflix. “Surprise! Season 6 & the Best Wishes, Warmest Regards documentary just dropped early on @[email protected]_CA! Have a great weekend!,” Levy wrote, before adding “*all things considered…,” referencing his “have a great weekend” note.

Season 6 was supposed to drop on Netflix on October 7, but it’s as if the Netflix and Schitt’s Creek team looked at the garbage-fire that is the news and realized that we, the people, need this. The Schitt’s Creek team also just swept at the Emmy Awards and can do whatever they want. If you were one of those people who needed to feel joy in their life during a global pandemic (raises hand) and found a way to watch season 6 and the documentary early, then you already know that both are epic. The documentary is an hour-long look into the last season of the Emmy-winning show and directly follows the finale. It first aired on Pop TV on April 7. An early press release says that the documentary goes into “wardrobe fittings, the emotional final table read, audition tapes, and more.” I’ve already seen this documentary and can attest to the fact that that description hardly gets into the depth of emotion you will feel as you watch the behind-the-scenes footage of the Rose family shooting their final scenes together. Anyway, log out of your Twitter account, grab a warm cup of something comforting, and watch Schitt’s Creek all weekend. You deserve this.
