NEW DELHI: Putting to rest concerns about low attendance for JEE (Main), the National Testing Agency stated that attendance for Paper 1 for BTech/BE admissions has been 81.6%. The computer-based tests commenced from September 1.

The attendance was lower for Paper 2 for BArch/B-Planning admissions at 54.7% with a few states pulling down the average significantly.

Paper 2 is to test aspirants for BArch/B-Planning courses which were conducted over two shifts on the first day, while Paper 1, to test aspirants for BTech/BE courses, is being conducted for the subsequent days till September 6, each day having two shifts. A total of 1,12,247 candidates registered for Paper 2 of which 61,366 finally took the test, which is significantly low from the usual 75-80%.

However, attendance percentage in Paper 1 for BTech/ BE admissions have been close to previous tests. Of the 3,46,372 candidates registered for Wednesday and Thursday’s tests, 2,82,592 aspirants took the tests over four shifts.
