TRICHY: National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) toll plazas on the Trichy-Chennai and Trichy-Thanjavur national highways revised the toll fee for light commercial vehicles (LCV), buses, trucks and multi-axle vehicles starting Tuesday (September 1).
The Samayapuram toll plaza situated on Trichy-Chennai NH has raised the toll fee for multi-axle vehicles by Rs 5 for a single journey. As the toll fee for multi-axle vehicles (single journey) was at Rs 240, from Tuesday early morning, the fee was raised to Rs 245.
At the toll plaza situated at Valavanthankottai on the Trichy-Thanjavur NH, the toll fee for all vehicles except cars has been increased. The single journey toll fee for LCVs, buses/trucks and multi-axle vehicles have been revised from Rs 110, Rs 220 and Rs 355 to Rs 115, Rs 225 and Rs 360 respectively.
Toll fee for double journey has also increased correspondingly.
NHAI sources said the toll fee revision was an annual exercise. The revision will be based on the wholesale price index (WPI) as released by the office of the economic advisor, ministry of commerce and industry.
