As the Central and state governments allow phase-wise relaxation in curbs to get the life up and running again following over two months of lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid-19, we bring you the latest updates from Delhi.
*ANI update at 9.50am: Spike of 29,429 Covid-19 cases & 582 deaths reported in the last 24 hours in India. Total positive cases stand at 9,36,181 including 3,19,840 active cases, 5,92,032 cured/discharged/migrated and 24,309 deaths: Ministry of Health
*ANI update at 9.16am: 1,24,12,664 samples tested for Covid-19 till 14th July, of these 3,20,161 samples were tested yesterday: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)
*Delhi’s second plasma bank set up at Lok Nayak Hospital was inaugurated by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday. The first such facility was opened on July 2 at Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in south Delhi.
*Delhi recorded 1,606 new cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday, taking the tally in the city to over 1.15 lakh. The death toll from the disease mounted to 3,446.
*At least 11 patients admitted to the medicine ward of All India Institute Of Medical Sciences for non-Covid illnesses have tested positive for the viral infection.
*According to Delhi government, 35 people died due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours in the capital.
*In the last four days, Delhi’s daily count of new Covid-19 cases has been reported in the range of 1,000-2,000. While the cases gradually dipped in the preceding three days —July 11 (1,781), July 12 (1,574) and July 13 (1,246), it saw a marginal rise to 1,606 on Tuesday.
*The number of active coronavirus cases on Tuesday stood at 18,664, down from 19,017 the previous day. On June 23, Delhi had reported the highest single-day spike of 3,947, till date.
